Black Mirror's Charlie Brooker Asked To Write Doctor Who

Charlie Brooker, writer and creator of hit dystopian anthology Black Mirror has revealed he almost wrote a story for Doctor Who after being recently being1 approached by production bosses.

Brooker confessed while speaking to The Independent the he didn’t have the time to contribute to the new series which is set to be screened in April 2017, according to Peter Capaldi. "I was approached for Doctor Who and I just didn’t have time. It was really annoying. I was really busy and they haven’t asked me again since. It was a bit like the Home Office asking you to do something," Brooker said.

With Black Mirror described as "a hybrid of The Twilight Zone and Tales of the Unexpected" it seems like we'd of been in for a treat with Series 10 of Doctor Who. Fingers crossed that the bosses manage to snatch him up for Series 11, maybe?

Black Mirror debuted recently on Netflix with a third series, the first since the show’s move from Channel 4. While Doctor Who returns 25th December for a Christmas Special titled "The Return of Doctor Mysterio".
